The Rih Lake Tour (5D/4N)
Trip Overview
This is a 5-day tour to Rih Lake, the hidden heart-shaped lake. It includes a visit to Mt. Kennedy, the second highest mountain in Chin state, British Soldier Cemetery which is built during World War II, Rih Lake, located on the chain of mountains that separates Myanmar and India, and India-Myanmar border towns.
Although there is little settlement on the route, there are wonderful sights, mountain ranges and rivers, and it is famous for its spectacular rhododendron forests. You have to rent a car at Kalay.
Day 1 Yangon – Kalay by Flight
You leave Yangon by flight and arrive in Kalay in the afternoon (you can ask the hotel to pick you up ).Dine at a restaurant and overnight at a hotel.
*But If you want to continue the journey, you can leave Kalay for Tedim without staying overnight.
Day 2 Kalay – Tedim by Car
After breakfast at the hotel, you will drive (4 hours) to Tedim Township. On the way, You can enjoy the scenes, village lives, and views of tribal people. You will have lunch in Tai Nyin village. After that you will drive to British Soldier Cemetery which is built strategically during World War II. Continues to the way Tedim, we will have amazing breathtaking to the top of Mt. Kenney which is the second hightest mountain in Chin State, where you can enjoy the panoramic view. Take your memorial able photo.
Tedim Township is unique in geography with its shape and slopes. The mountain tops are covered with rhododendron bushes, orchids, berries and pine trees etc. You will also visit Churches and make friends with local people. Observe local life by walking around Tedim Township. Overnight at a local guest house in Tedim.
Day 3 Tedim – Rih Lake by Car
After breakfast, you will drive to Rih Lake. It is a 4 hour drive from Tedim. On the way, you will enjoy the scenes, village lives, and views of tribal people. You will have lunch on the way.
Sightseeing continues to Rih Khuadar and Tio villages which lay on Indo-Myanmar border. Upon the arrival at Rih Lake, you will check in at guesthouse. After that, you will go to the lake and can also enjoy a boat ride in Rih Lake. Rih Lake offers remarkable atmosphere with spectacular colors and photo opportunities. Dine and overnight at the guesthouse by the lake or in the town.
Day 4 Rih Lake – Falam (Taisun Village) by Car
After having breakfast at a local tea house in Rih Lake Township, Tio and experiencing the charming local daily life and activities in the morning, you will drive to Falam (4-hour drive). On the way you will see a small village called Mon Tha and Hualngo Mountain. Continues to the way to Falam, we can see Tlau Hmun Village and visit Zahnu & Hualngo Chief Thang Tin Lian’s Residence.
When you have arrived Falam, enjoy your lunch at local restaurant. After that we will continues to Taisun Village, Community-based Tourism. Where the only one we can see Chin Traditional Houses in 21st Century. All houses are typical Chin style and we can see Chin Chief house also.
Upon arrival in the village and after cleaning up, we will have a village tour program by village ambassador (Village tour guide). After that we will have dinner at local house with Chin traditional meals then we will dance with bone fire with local village for culture exchange program.
Spend Overnight at local house in Taisun Village.
Day 5 Falam – Kalay – Yangon by Car + Flight
After having breakfast at a local tea house, you will drive back to Kalay (5-hour drive). Ways to Kalay, visit to Historical Siallum Fort crossroad of Vaklak Village.
Have a Lunch in Kalay restaurant. Leave Kalay by flight at 3:30 pm. Arrive in Yangon at 5:15 pm.

Myanmar Endemic and Highlight Birding Tour
Trip Overview
This is a 7-days tour to Khaw Nu M’Cung, Mt.Victoria, ASEAN Heritage Park. It includes sightseeing around Bagan.
Although it will take a long ride, there will be great mountainous views on the way to Kanpetlet township and Khaw Nu M’Cung.
Day 1 Arival at Bagan
Aftercheck-in to the hotel, Sightseeing aroung Bagan.
Overnight at Hotel/Guesthouse in Bagan.
Day 2 Arrival at Kanpetlet
After breakfast, check out from your hotel at 6:00 am and you will be on your trip to Kanpetlet (Mt.Victoria ) passing through the Chauk
Township which one of the Natural Oil Field Area. After that you will pass the Ayeyarwaddy River and then about 2 hours drive ascending the Chin Hill. Then, you can do the bird watching on the Hilly road while passing by and stop at the sites if you wish. When you arrive at Kanpetlet township, you can check in to the hotel or guesthouse (see them on https://www.chintravel.com.mm/travel-services/hotels/). After that you can go around and sightseeing around the town.
Spend Overnight at Hotel in Kanpetlet.
Day 3,4 and 5 Kanpetlet Birding (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
After breakfast, you will be enjoying birding full days at Mt.Victoria (Natmataung National Park) which is a major focal point of the birding tour. It holds a great variety of Eastern Himalayan bird species, near endemic bird species and Myanmar endemic bird species. Early morning you drive up from Hotel to Birding point about one hour drive to altitude between 7,500 ft–(nearly 9,000 ft above Sea level ) “Ten Miles Camp”. The habitat type of Mt.Victoria is characterized by pine, oak, rhododendron and evergreen forest with shot grassland. In this area, you could be able to see two Myanmar Endemic species. They are White-browed Nuthatch and Burmese Tit (Split from Black-browed) and Myanmar near-endemic birds: Mt. Victoria Babax (split from Chinese Babax),Assam and Brown-capped Laughingthrush,Chin Hills Wren Babbler (split from Long-tiled-Wren Babbler),White-browed Fulvetta, Green Shrike-babbler, Yellow-breasted Greenfinch, Black-throated
Prinia and rare birds Hill Partridge and Blyth’s Trangopan, other birds: Yellow-billed Blue Magpie, Spot-breasted Parrotbill , Black-bibbed Tit, Fire-tailed, Mrs Gould’s, Green-tailed Sunbirds and other species.As you will be birding the whole day , you will need to carry packed lunch and coffee for you.
Enjoy Dinner at Hotel and overnight at Hotel in Kanpetlet.
Day 6 Kanpetlet to Bagan Birding on the way (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
In the early morning, try local breakfast at Kanpetlet and we will continue our journey and will arrive to the Song Long Village which is implemented as a Community-based Tourism. This village is situated in the base of the famous ASEAN Heritage Park called Nat Ma Taung @ Khaw Nu M’cung. The Villagers would offering for traditional food, traditional wine furthermore we can enjoy traditional costumes and traditional musical performance.
After that we will drive back ways to Bagan and have a lunch on the way restaurant s and will arrive to Bagan.
Spend Overnight in Bagan.
Day 7 Departure from Bagan
After breakfast, you can go around for sightseeing before your departure.
Kalay - Taisun - Mt. Zing Hmuh - Hakha - Mandalay / Yangon
Trip Overview
This tour aims for visitors to experience and immense in the culture, and ways of life of the Chin people with long-standing traditions along the Chin Hills Expedition during the British invasion. The tour includes a stay at culturally and historically significant village of Taisun. This tour objects to support the local people by supporting a community-based tourism.
Taisun is 4 miles away from Falam town, surrounded by three villages and Manipur River flows from north to east of the village. The village is the oldest village in Falam Township, and is very famous for Chin tribal chief Tson Bik a.k.a. Bo Son Pek, who fought against the invasion of the British till 1892. During 1856-1892, led by Tson Bik, Taisun was the largest and most powerful village of all Chin Hills with 500 households. Taisun was the last defense of the British invasion in Chin Hills.
Visitors will witness long preserved Chin traditional ways of life, wonderful sights, breathtaking mountain ranges and rivers, and the vast mountain forest. Visitors will do hiking on Mount Zinghmuh, the third highest mountain in Chin Hills. A sight-seeing tour around Falam, the first government administrative town of Chin Hills and Hakha, the capital city of Chin State.
Day 1 Yangon – Kalay by Flight
Leave Yangon by an afternoon flight. Dine and overnight at Kalay or hire a car to continue the trip.
Day 2 Kalay – Taisun Village
If you take overnight at Kalay and hire a car –
After breakfast at Kalay, you will have to go up a 4-hour drives to Falam Township. There are chances that you might see some rhododendrons, a Chin national flower, on the road. You will head straight to Lumbang village, where you can have lunch. Lumbang is home to Panglong Conference signatory Wunna Kyaw Htin Pu Hlur Hmung.
After that you will proceed to Chin Heritage Village, Taisun, a Community-based tourism village, the only place where one can see Chin Traditional Houses in the 21st Century. All houses are typical Chin style and you can see Chin Chief house also. It is sure that if the old houses and the place could speak, they will surely be able to tell you many interesting anecdotes in their long history. This CBT is an award-winning product of Product and Package Innovation Competition and was implemented by The Backyard Travels & Tours in cooperation with UKaid in 2017.
Upon arrival in the village, there is a CBT house and you can accommodate there. After cleaning up, you can have a walking tour around the village conducted by a village ambassador (village tour guide). After that you will have dinner at that CBT house with Chin traditional meals and will dance around bonfire (optional) with the villagers for culture exchange. Overnight at a local house in the village.
Day 3 Taisun Village – A Picnic at Manipur River (Treak)
With the local guide, you will have a picnic at Manipur River below the village. After breakfast, you will go down to the river. Lunch will be packed, and will have an experience of traditional hunting and fish catching/fishing style. The river has a wooden suspension bridge named Suangpi that was used by nearby villages to commute to Falam town. You can swim in the river. The river site has a remaining destroyed Manipur Bridge built by the British during 1925-26. Dine and overnight at a local house in the village.
Day 4 Taisun – Mt. Zing Hmuh Hakha by Car _ Teak
After breakfast, you will drive to Mount Zinghmuh. It is one-and-half hour drive to Tlangzar village, a base camp. With local guide, you will hike to the peak of Zinghmuh, which is 8,814 ft. above sea level, the third highest peak in Chin State. With a decent pace, it could take 2-3 hours. Legend has it that Mount Zinghmuh is the gateway to the afterlife world. After spending some time and having lunch at the peak, you will head back to the camping site continue to Hakha.
With time permits, you can stop by at the Prayer Mountain with a giant cross. You will see Hakha spreading under Mount Rung. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at a guest house.
Day 5 Sightseeing in Hakha by Car
After having breakfast, you will drive around Hakha, visit Van Hre Museum showcasing traditional house and artifacts, Missionaries Compound where you will witness the legacy of the American Baptist Mission, the East Bungalow, the stone church, Aidii Waving House, a social enterprise, to learn Chin traditional weaving and textiles, and the Missionaries Cemetery. You will have lunch at a local tea shop, and will eat the authentic Sabuti, a traditional corn meat soup, for lunch.
Go up to Mount Rung and Hakha Viewpoint to see sunset and cloud fogging. Dine at a local restaurant and overnight at a guest house.
Day 6 Hakha – Mandalay / Yangon
After checking out early in the morning, you will have puri, a local favorite, for breakfast at a local tea shop and you can visit around Hakha. Then, you will have to go to the Hakha Bus Stadium before 9:30 am to go back to Ygn or before 3:30pm to go back to Mdy.
