Chin State is located in the Western part of Myanmar with the total area of 13,907 square-kilometer. Chin State is bordered by Sagaing Division and Magway Division to the east, Rakhine State to the South, Bagladesh to the West and India to the north. 80% of the total population is rural area inhabitants.

Chin State lies in the amidst of Indochinese zoogeographic sub-region, India zoogeographic  sub-region and Palearatic zoogeographic sub-region so the land is enriched with unspoiled beauty of the nature, rare animals and flowers, traditional festivals, culture and dances, nutritious traditional foods, the hospitability of the local people, unique customs and cultures.

Each region is Chin State has significant destinations to attract travelers in different ways. A wide assortment of major tourist attractions not to miss starts from the Kenedy peak to the unique heart-shaped Rih Lake, Buan Nel valley, Mt. Ciriang, Khai Khaikam Elephant camp, Historical Siallum Fort, Mt. Zing Hmuh on the Northern part of the State plus Bungtla Waterfall, the Asean Heritage park Mt. Victoria (Nat Ma Taung) and Mt. Kimo on the Western part of the State. Historical places, scenic beauty of the land, biodiversity of flowers, rare birds such as White-browed Nuthatch, the beauty of facial tattooed Chin ladies, traditional knife dance, bamboo dance and music, symbolic cultures and customs can grasp the heart of the travelers. Festivals play a vital role to attract travelers as well. Visitors can observe an eminent traditional wrestling and Khuang Cawi occasion on Chin National Day. Additionally, visitors can enjoy Loknu culture festival, Rhododendron festival, Khuado festival and New Year festivals entertained with nutritious traditional foods.

Tourism is becoming a major source of government revenue in developing countries which aims to sustainable development of the local people with abundance of economic impact. Under the guidance of the head offices and with the collaboration of more experienced international organizations, Chin State tourism department puts more effort on the socio-economic development of the host community by providing satisfactory services to both international and domestic travelers based on community-based tourism. From that point, the locals active participation will lead to ecotourism plus sustainable tourism which aim  to protect and promote the ecofriendly environment, enhance current and intergenerational equity and improve the economic standard and quality of living of the locals.
