Paletwa township

 Paletwa is a predominantly chin town on the banks of the Kaladan River and it is 54 m above sea level. It is the only township to be accessible by both land and water transportations. The culture, lifestyle and traditional foods give pleasure and satisfaction to the travellers from Rakhine State by boat and from Matupi-Sami road by car. Paletwa can be reached via Kyauk Taw.

Mt. Kimo

Mt. Kimo is located at Tin Bone village, 20 miles from Paletwa Town, Chin State. It is 1,301m above sea level. The mountain is uniquely well-known for its crescent shape plus its rich flora and fauna, different species of birds and other animals in the area around the mountain. Travellers can enjoy and see lots of fish, frogs and shrimps in the stream flowing amid mountains. Additionally, hornbills and bog turtles can be seen on the mountain.

Hornbil

The great hornbill is one variety of the hornbill that lives in Chin State. Hornbills live in couple so they are honored for their faithfulness and strong love. So the bird becomes the State bird in order to represent the faithfulness and bravery of the Chin people.
