Thantlang township

Thantlang is located in a one-hour drive from Hakha either by car or by motorbike. The town is surrounded by teal-colored mountain ranges. Thantlang town is sandwiched between Mt. Vuichip and Mt. Marau, and fed by two beautiful rivers: buhva from the east and Bahva from the west. Apart from beautiful sceneries, Hauka Bung Resort and No Mang Orphanage gardens which lies beside the main road of Hakha-Thantlang are a must visit places in Thantlang.

Mt. Ci Riang

Mt. Ci Riang is situated near Tikir village in Thantlang Township, and 43 miles from Thantlang town. It is an evergreen forest, pine forest and grassland forest so the mountain is a paradise for biodiversity of trees, wildlife, mammals and different species of birds. As the location, climate and environment nearby Mt. Ci Riang are uniqued, it is a favourable place for ecotourism lovers who enjoy trekking and walking along the mountain. A famous Tikir dam is only 7 miles from Mt. Ci Riang so visitors can comfortably take a relaxation there, too.

Mt. Mi-epi

Mt. Mi-epi is situated near Hriphi village in Thantlang Township. Interestingly, Saiha district of Mizoram State in India can be seen from the peak of the mountain. That mountain area is very rich in wildlife and mountain goats. There are more than 300 acres of plain area, called Phaipi Nel, where villagers plant beans. The most famous Leisih tunnel is about 700 m long which is beautifully decorated with small rocks and a small stream flowing along the tunnel.  It takes 4 hours to reach there from Hakha Town by a motorbike.

Tikir Village and Tikir Dam

Tikir is a village which is situated above 1600m sea level at Thantlang Township. It is 60 miles far from Hakha, the capital city of Chin State. It takes more than 3 hours from Hakha to reach there by car. A must visit place in the village is Tikir dam which is situated over 1524m above sea level. The dam is surrounded by about 1000 systematically planted Japan Sakura trees. Visitors can enjoy the wildlife through mountaineering on a beautiful Ci Riang mountain, a nearby mountain of Tikir village.

Hriphi Village

Around the year of 1710, five tribes of Chin were led by Pu Hlei Lian to establish Hriphi village. It is 35 miles in the west of Thantlang town, and situated above 5300ft above sea level. It was named “Hriphi” because of the rattan growing near the village. Nowadays, there are more than 813 people from 27 tribes dwelling in the village. Around their village, people can do trekking, hiking, and caving in Mt. Mi-epi Mountain and Leisih cave.
